Yes. Alamo Heights is an incorporated city fully surrounded by San Antonio, and we work there often. It is mature canopy on established lots, so the job is usually careful dismantling rather than dropping a tree whole. Removal, trimming, pruning and stump grinding, with free estimates.
3 Monkeys Tree Service serves Alamo Heights with removal, trimming, pruning, stump grinding and emergency storm response. Locally owned, 544 Google reviews at a 4.9 average, and a crew available whatever time the tree comes down. Call (210) 253-7777 to get a written number before any work starts.
Alamo Heights is its own municipality, enclosed by San Antonio but governed separately, which means San Antonio tree rules are not the rules that apply to your property. Confirm locally before a removal. The practical character of the place is old canopy over established lots: large live oaks that have been there far longer than most of the houses, growing close to structures, driveways and utility lines. There is rarely a clean drop zone, so most removals here come apart in sections.
The absence of a drop zone is what drives the price on most removals in built up areas, far more than the height of the tree. A large tree in an open yard can come down quickly. The same tree between two houses has to come apart piece by piece, with every section controlled on the way down.
Anyone working on oaks in this region should be able to tell you about oak wilt without being asked. It spreads by beetles into fresh wounds and underground between connected live oaks. Regional practice is to avoid spring pruning on oaks and to seal every cut immediately. Storm damage is the awkward case, since the tree chooses the timing, and that is exactly when prompt wound painting matters most.
If you are planning a driveway, a pool, an addition or a utility run near an established tree, the time to ask about it is before the trench is dug rather than after the canopy thins. Roots extend far wider than most people expect, well beyond the spread of the branches, and severing them on one side both starves and destabilizes the tree.
We bring our own access solution rather than asking you to solve it. Narrow side gates, low power drops and soft ground all change the approach, and all of it gets settled before the quote is signed rather than discovered on the day.
There is no charge to come look, and no obligation after we have. Plenty of people call for a second opinion on a quote they already have, and that is a reasonable thing to want.
Alamo Heights work often starts with a phone call at a bad hour. That is emergency tree removal. After the weather clears it becomes storm damage cleanup, and on the trees that survive it becomes dead wood removal.
Look for a trunk cavity, mushrooms growing at the base, bark falling away in sheets, a lean that has changed recently, or soil lifting on one side of the root plate. Any of those is worth a look from someone who does this daily. Not all of them mean removal.
Estimates are usually available within a day or two, and the work itself follows quickly once you approve the number. Storm weeks stretch that for every company in the region, ours included.
There is no flat rate, because the two trees on your street are not the same job. Height, trunk diameter, lean, and what sits underneath all move the price, and access moves it most of all. We give a firm written number on site at no charge.
Storm damage and hazard limbs get dealt with whenever they happen, because a broken limb over a walkway is a bigger risk than an off season cut. Planned shaping work is better scheduled, and we are happy to book it for the right window.

My husband and I couldn’t be happier with the makeover our trees received. We chose the perfect company, and the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. The team was friendly, professional, and did an excellent job. We’d gladly return because of their outstanding service and the care they put into their work. Highly recommended.
Wonderfully professional and detail oriented. I definarly recommend 3 Monkeys Tree Service!
LOVED THEM! Super quick, friendly, and did what they promised. I almost wish I had more trees for them to fix. They trimmed the crazy one in the back, and took out one that was starting to grow under the driveway and break the concrete. Can't even tell it was there. 100% would use these guys again.
They were great! Came out the very next day. It was such a tall tree. Did an awesome job. They surpassed my expectations. I will absolutely be using them again.
3 monkeys tree service was amazing. They were on time and did a great job and when they left the area was completely clean up. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great company with wonderful employees.
On time. Very professional, large crew. Everything was trimmed and clean. Trees won’t need cleaning up for a while but i would hire this team again in a heartbeat.
